Summit Park Pumpkin Parade
Mission: Host events that build community
Unfortunately the City of Victoria is not allowing us to use Summit Park for the 4th annual Summit Park Pumpkin Parade, so the event has been cancelled for 2022.
We will revisit the possibility of hosting it again in 2023.
Join us November 1st for an enchanting fall experience celebrating the artistry of local pumpkin carvers. Bring your jack o'lantern for display along the paths in Summit Park for the whole neighbourhood to enjoy!
There may be a surprise performance when you get to the tower! We ask that groups maintain physical distance.
Recommended donation of $2-5 to cover the cost of removing the pumpkins for composting.
Consultation and Advocacy on Behalf of Hillside-Quadra Residents and Business Owners
Mission: Communicate our needs to the City, the CRD, and other public bodies
In 2019 we focused on advocating for community space (possibly including a library) at 950 Kings Road (formerly Blanshard Elementary).
Check out the Engagement Report that we presented to the CRD Hospitals and Housing committee for details on our public consultation activities.
Safer Streets for Hillside Quadra
Mission: Slow traffic on side streets
Throughout Hillside-Quadra vehicles cutting through the side streets at high speed pose serious risks to people walking and on bicycles, and other road users. We advocate for innovative and cost-effective traffic calming measures through the Safer Streets for Hillside Quadra Facebook page, as well as presentations in the neighbourhood and at City Hall.
Advocacy for Local Improvements
Mission: Make our neighbourhood better
Advocate for and support better park access and maintenance, alternative transportation options, playground improvements, beautification, placemaking and community-building projects in Hillside-Quadra. Examples include advocating for an improved traffic diverter at 5th Street and Kings Road, pole painting projects, requesting services such as mailbox replacement, line and hydrant painting, and street sweeping.
Sharing Information about Local Events
Mission: Keep residents informed of local happenings
We keep an updated event calendar where anyone can check out upcoming events in Hillside-Quadra and the surrounding area. We also announce upcoming events via email. We do not have regular meetings, but you're always welcome to reach out!
